Cambridge Forum for Jewish Studies

 

Writer, scholar and translator Todd Hasak-Lowy, winner of this year's Jewish Book Week Risa Domb/Porjes Translation Prize, will read from some of his English translations from Hebrew and discuss the challenges of translating modern Hebrew works into English today.

Hasak-Lowy is author of the acclaimed collection of short stories, The Task of This Translator (2005). He also wrote a novel called Captives (2008) and a novel for young adults called 33 Minutes (2013). In addition to Motti, Hasak-Lowy also
translated, most recently, Dror Burstein’s novel, Netanya.
