Crimson Words: Writing as a Visual Process

The alternative Israeli comics artist, Yirmi Pinkus, who became known for his experimental graphic novels, has recently also published two novels in which he gradually transitioned from illustrated narratives to more traditional fiction. At the same time, his writing remains visual in essence. In his lecture, Pinkus will present his writing as a process of translating images into words and using visual techniques for composing fiction. As part of the lecture, Pinkus will present sketches, illustrations and photographs that were created during the writing of his two novels, some of which did not make it into the finished work.
